We are pleased to share our new publication in Biophysical Journal, entitled: “Mapping the peptide interaction fingerprint of the Behçet’s disease-associated HLA-B*51.”
Our study uses all-atom molecular dynamics simulations to examine how HLA-B*51:01 interacts with 36 self-peptides. The simulations reveal interaction patterns that depend on peptide length, while in silico unbinding simulations distinguish their resistance to mechanical separation. These findings provide a molecular framework for understanding peptide recognition by this protein, the strongest genetic risk factor for Behçet’s disease.
